Which type of tummy tuck is appropriate for me?

MINI TUMMY TUCK

Mini tummy tuck involves the removal of loose skin and subcutaneous fat, including stretch marks in the abdominal area below the belly button only. The belly button does not need to be repositioned during this procedure and consequently there is no scar around the navel. In this case, the scar is shorter and also runs along the lower abdomen and is hidden under the underwear. The procedure is usually combined with minor liposuction of the flanks and abdomen to accentuate the natural lines of the abdominal muscles, thus further creating a more feminine, attractive and defined figure (hourglass shape).

In contrast to full tummy tuck, a mini tummy tuck focuses on the lower abdominal area below the belly button. It is suitable for individuals with localized concerns in this area. While the results of a mini tummy tuck are more limited, it can still provide improvement in the lower abdominal contour, resulting in a flatter and more toned appearance.

FULL TUMMY TUCK

Full tummy tuck involves the excision of excess skin and fatty tissue with repositioning the belly button. If there is an associated separation of the abdominal muscles, this is restored by suturing the abdominal muscle sheaths or muscle tightening. The scar in a full abdominoplasty is located on the lower abdomen running from one side of the flank to the other and is hidden under the underwear. Due to the repositioning of the belly button, the scar also runs around the belly button. The procedure is usually combined with liposuction of the flanks and abdomen to accentuate the natural lines of the abdominal muscles, thus further creating a more feminine, attractive and defined figure (hourglass shape).

The results of a full tummy tuck are generally more significant compared to a mini tummy tuck. A full tummy tuck addresses excess skin and fat in both the lower and middle abdominal area, as well as abdominal muscle laxity. This can result in a flatter, more toned, and contoured abdomen.

Tummy tuck as part of the mommy makeover

The removal of excess fat and loose skin on the abdomen is often combined with other body contouring procedures, also known as mommy makeover. Most often the removal of excess skin on the abdomen is combined with breast procedures such as breast reduction, breast lift, breast augmentation or liposuction. In this way, we can restore an even more harmonious body as a whole.

It's important to note that the specific results of all procedures can vary depending on individual factors such as the amount of excess skin and fat, the condition of the abdominal muscles, and the patient's overall body shape.
